It is so commonplace to hear women degrade other women just because they are women. I can not count the number of times I’ve heard women say that they’d rather befriend a man rather than a woman. They say that other women are caddy. And their male friends are much more entertaining and fun to be around.

This article wouldn’t need to be written if there was truth, and clarity in those voices of discrimination being echoed across the country by women against other women. From a psychological and spiritual perspective I can understand why it is happening. But there is no justification in prejudging another human being just because you haven’t resolved your own issues.

Our society has become sensitive to the struggles of different minorities. We hold hands and sing songs of unity and hope when it comes to overcoming racism. We march in support of those dying from life threatening diseases and we volunteer our time, and sometimes lives, to make sure our brothers or sisters in other countries have adequate shelter, food, water, and health care.

Still, there is an insidious cancer that has been infecting the minds of ordinary people for a very long time. It’s a mindset that not only diminishes the credibility and importance of its victim but at the same time will convince the victim to spread the poison.

Hating women, as well as gays, is still very much alive. The former, we don’t talk about and the latter, we stand on street corners expressing our reasons of justification. Yet, little girls and grown women continue to be driven into back alleys to be, raped, beaten, and often times killed. And it’s not just in this country but in many other wealthy and powerful societies, women are disposable waste.

Cosmetics can transform your face. They boost self confidence and help you create an image. It’s a well known and acknowledged fact that cosmetics (when used correctly) can boost morale and self esteem. To put it simply – they make us feel good about ourselves. Just remember, cosmetics should be used to enhance your natural beauty not make you into someone else. Here are a few tips to keep in mind when applying your make up.

1) Before applying foundation apply moisturizer. Even if your skin is oily try one that is water based. This not only gives your foundation staying power, it also helps spread it evenly and naturally.

2) After you apply foundation dust with a very minimal amount of translucent powder.

3) Be sure to apply your make up under the proper lighting. Avoid flourescent lights. Whenever possible apply your make up near a window or somewhere that gets a lot of natural light.

4) When applying make up keep your clothes in mind. No your lipstick does not have to match your top but the colors should flow not clash.

5) You will also want to make sure your lipstick and blush work together. Try to stay within the same family of shades. No red lipsticks and peach blushes. Pale pinks and Beigey or very light brown shades flatter most complexions.

6) When applying lipstick, relax your mouth and apply. If you wear a dark shade of lipstick brush it on with your fingertips. This gives your mouth a sexy, pouty look. It also prevents your lipstick from looking clumpy.

7) When applying mascaras (black is always the best choice) Make sure to apply to both top and bottom lashes. Apply to bottom lashes before coating the top.

Apply eye shadow in rich shades to eyelids. Then dab a touch of petroleum jelly over for a glossy look.

1. Waste not want not. Somethings can be recycled. When your mascara is all used up, don’t throw the wand away. Wash it thoroughly with soap and water and use it as a lash separator.

2. For natural looking, yet lush lashes, after applying each coat of mascara, separate the lashes with an eye lash comb or a clean, dry mascara wand.

3. Before applying eye makeup, lie down with a cucumber slice over each eye for 15 minutes to reduce puffiness.

4. If a zit appears, before you hide it with makeup, bring down the redness with ice. Then apply a pimple remedy and paint on the concealer to hide the zit

5. To brighten your eyes, line just behind the lower lashes with white mascara.

6. If your lipstick melts, don’t throw it away. Transfer it into a clean ointment jar and apply it with a lip brush.

7. You can also mix melted lipstick with Vaseline in an ointment jar to form a tinted lip balm

8. If you want cats eyes, use a liquid eye liner on the upper lash line. Start with a fine line from the inner corner, but thicken the line dramatically as you move towards the outer corner of the eye. Then wing out. Here is a step by step guide on how to apply eyeliner

9. If you want color, there is no need to do a rainbow. A subtle application of an electric blue eyeliner on nude eyeshadows would do the trick. Or play up your eyes with a single bright eyeshadow in violet, or even orange, but offset it with neutral shadows like browns, grays and blacks.

10. Make lips look fuller by dabbing the center of the lower lip with a silver or gold eyeshadow.
