LED lights or light emitting diodes are one of the advancements in lighting technology. LED lights are small electronic lights. They function with the help of a semi-conductor device called diode. The function of the diode is to direct current flows through it.

They are extremely energy efficient and have a very long life compared to their incandescent counterparts. The size of a led light is as small as a pencil eraser. They do not have a fragile filament inside, so led light bulbs last forever.

LED was first developed in 1960. But, they gained popularity only in recent years. They are widely used in traffic signals and electronic panels. Their operational expenses are much lower than incandescent lights. They use 80-90 percent less energy than the conventional incandescent lamps and last 5-10 years.

Before the introduction of led lights, incandescent halogen bulbs of 50 and 150 watts were commonly used. Compared to incandescent halogen bulbs, LED lights are brighter, longer lasting and save energy.

LED lights have a number of advantages over other conventional forms of lighting. They are smaller flexible lighting systems, ideal for both indoor and outdoor lighting applications. Everyone wants happiness. Happiness is the driving force behind almost all of our actions, and even when we are unhappy, we are involved with somehow changing that unhappiness into happiness for ourselves. When we are confronted with someone or something, we either have a compulsion to pull it toward us, that is; we like it or even love it. Or, we push it away, which means that we dislike it, or even hate it. We can see this pulling and pushing in every aspect of our lives as we go about making our decisions every day.

Simple things, such as making out a grocery list, is full of decisions. Should we not buy the ice cream because we are on a diet, or the steak because we are on a budget? Should we buy healthy foods that are more expensive, or rice and potatoes that we can more easily afford?

More complex things, like choosing a mate or choosing a career follow the same process of pulling or pushing. We might push away the manual labor jobs and embrace the mentally stimulating ones, or pull the beautiful men or women toward us, and push the physically unattractive away. We call this making choices, but in reality, we are trying to be happy.

The problem is, when we push away or pull toward us, this is called attachment and aversion. These two, attachment and aversion, seem to be a natural way to live, but when looked at closely, pushing and pulling is the root of our unhappiness. And as long as we push or pull, happiness will avoid us like the plague.

This statement seems to be false, because when we pull something toward us, it is a happy experience. The problem lies in the fact that we cannot continue to pull it toward us without forming a dependency of that particular person or thing, and once we become dependent, we then must control it. Otherwise, if we don’t control it, it can slip away, and we would be unhappy once more.

1. Waste not want not. Somethings can be recycled. When your mascara is all used up, don’t throw the wand away. Wash it thoroughly with soap and water and use it as a lash separator.

2. For natural looking, yet lush lashes, after applying each coat of mascara, separate the lashes with an eye lash comb or a clean, dry mascara wand.

3. Before applying eye makeup, lie down with a cucumber slice over each eye for 15 minutes to reduce puffiness.

4. If a zit appears, before you hide it with makeup, bring down the redness with ice. Then apply a pimple remedy and paint on the concealer to hide the zit

5. To brighten your eyes, line just behind the lower lashes with white mascara.

6. If your lipstick melts, don’t throw it away. Transfer it into a clean ointment jar and apply it with a lip brush.

7. You can also mix melted lipstick with Vaseline in an ointment jar to form a tinted lip balm

8. If you want cats eyes, use a liquid eye liner on the upper lash line. Start with a fine line from the inner corner, but thicken the line dramatically as you move towards the outer corner of the eye. Then wing out. Here is a step by step guide on how to apply eyeliner

9. If you want color, there is no need to do a rainbow. A subtle application of an electric blue eyeliner on nude eyeshadows would do the trick. Or play up your eyes with a single bright eyeshadow in violet, or even orange, but offset it with neutral shadows like browns, grays and blacks.

10. Make lips look fuller by dabbing the center of the lower lip with a silver or gold eyeshadow.

I don’t understand human logic when it comes to the definition of genuine versus fake. Which side are we really on? Where are the lines? No one seems to know! On the surface, all of us give too much value to everything genuine. We do this subconsciously.

We even use the term as a compliment. We all want that genuine partner, or genuine diamond ring or genuine handbag. But what we all really want, deep down, is the fake stuff! Well, maybe not in the diamond area! Not only do people want to accumulate fake stuff around them, they don’t seem to get enough of it!

Take, for example, our fascination with movies. We actually pay money and devote time to watch fake actors in fake situations and in fake stories. We even give actors prizes for the best fake story that touched our hearts. When films try to get closer to reality, or to being genuine, we treat them with disdain and demote them to “documentaries” which end up filling dead airtime on 24-hour TV screens.

What brought all this up in my mind was the personal experience I recently had when I went with a friend to discover the magic of “genuine fake” merchandise.

You should see how ordinary folks are suddenly turned into caring archaeologists caressing each piece lovingly and patiently, as if it was the last of its kind on Earth.

As a human being suffering from a weak spot for watches and shoes I could not resist the urge to buy one “genuine fake” item of each. It did not take much time for me to be duly sold and separated from my money; the looks were great and the price was affordable!

As the Americans say; I was a happy camper! I left the store 10 inches taller! By the way, to this day I still don’t understand why Americans associate “tallness” with happiness! Do they assume that all midgets are miserable?
