Am I ThirtyTwo Or Eight?

cake5x7at72.jpgAs if February wasn’t already unique enough, having only twenty-eight days under normal circumstances. This is especially bad for people who are awaiting events in March, though in later months, people will have already adjusted to the change.

And what about those who are born on the 29th February? Do they have to wait four years for their next birthday? I don’t believe I have never met anyone born on this day, but if one of those people is reading this article, I would very much like to hear from them!

In non-leap years they may celebrate their birthday on 28 February or 1 March. For legal purposes, their legal birthdays depend on how different laws count time intervals. In England the legal birthday of a leapling is 28 February in common years.

Although the modern calendar counts a year as 365 days, a complete revolution around the sun takes approximately 365 days and 6 hours. Every four years, an extra twenty-four hours have accumulated, so one extra day is added to that calendar to keep the count coordinated with the sun’s apparent position.

Were you born on a leap year? Are you looking forward to celebrating your birthday on February 29?

It comes but every four years so how has this affected you and your life? We want to hear how you will celebrate this year.

  1. I wasn’t born on Feb. 29th, but in my family we celebrate Leap Day as a special holiday called Gluttony Day. I take the day off work and we go from restaurant to restaurant eating whatever we want, all day long. Each meal is done in moderation, but only to prolong the overall excess.

The next day, it’s back to healthy food. This is our one day of wild abandon. I’m so excited for tomorrow!

  2. I’m sure there is some where on the Internet that gives celebrities born on 2/29, but as to what impact that has had on their lives . . I hope you enjoy your birthday. Take care.

  3. Enjoy life!
